The Waccamaw Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Philip Simmons Iron Horses at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Waccamaw comes in on four and Philip Simmons on five.
Waccamaw proved they can win big on April 8th (they won by ten) and last Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let West Florence get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Meanwhile, Philip Simmons made easy work of Colleton County on Wednesday and carried off a 6-0 victory. Philip Simmons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by three goals or more this season.
Philip Simmons' win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 39 goals over those eight contests. As for Waccamaw, their win bumped their record up to 17-4.
Waccamaw beat Philip Simmons by a goal in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
