Softball Recap: Meridian Comes Up Short

Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 27-2 to the Italy Gladiators. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gladiators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in March.

Meridian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mailey Padgett, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Italy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Meridian and Italy will both be playing Frost the next time they take the field. The Yellowjackets will head out to face the Polar Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Gladiators will host them at 5:00 p.m. on the 15th.
