Baseball Game Preview: Rancocas Valley Red Devils vs. Cherry Hill East Cougars

The Rancocas Valley Red Devils will head out to take on the Cherry Hill East Cougars at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.

Bishop Eustace Prep hit Rancocas Valley with a five-run fifth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders. The Red Devils' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Cherry Hill East sidestepped Camden County Vo-Tech for a 3-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Cole Haddock tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cherry Hill East saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Hanni, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those two hits gave Hanni a new career-high.

The victory got Cherry Hill East back to even at 7-7-2. As for Rancocas Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Rancocas Valley skirted past Cherry Hill East 4-2 in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
