Basketball Recap: Patchogue-Medford Comes Up Short

Patchogue-Medford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Walt Whitman Wildcats, falling 70-36. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-29 back in December of 2024.

Patchogue-Medford's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Walt Whitman, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

Patchogue-Medford will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Riverhead at 5:45 p.m. on February 4th. As for Walt Whitman, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Walt Whitman Wildcats take on the Northport Tigers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
