Baseball Recap: Rogers Comes Up Short

Rogers lost against Cardinal Stritch back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Rams took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jeremiah McKinney and Ja'Vonni Sargent did some serious damage despite the final result: McKinney got on base in two of his three plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs, while Sargent got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Sargent is becoming a predictor of Rogers' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 1-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Krall, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Rogers' loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Cardinal Stritch, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-12.

Looking ahead, Rogers will host Woodward at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cardinal Stritch, they will head out on the road to face off against North Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
