Recap: Palmetto Tigers vs. Sarasota Sailors
The Palmetto Tigers lost against the Sarasota Sailors back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Palmetto was outmatched by Sarasota at home and fell 69-15. It was the first time this season that Palmetto let down their fans at home.
Sarasota found their leader in underclassman Paisley Binswanger, who scored 17 points. Binswanger is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison McDonald, who scored six points along with six rebounds and six blocks.
Palmetto's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2. As for Sarasota, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Palmetto won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against DeSoto County at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. DeSoto County's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Palmetto's offense will have their work cut out for Palmetto. Sarasota will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lake Nona at 5:00 p.m. on December 27th.
