Volleyball Recap: Wilcox Comes Up Short

Wilcox was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Leigh Longhorns. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2021.

Hanako Stone paced Wilcox's offense, picking up nine kills. Stone got some help from Kelsy Mock and her 18 assists. Sienna Spencer controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Wilcox's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Leigh, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.

Wilcox didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against MacDonald on the 11th. As for Leigh, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Los Altos on the 11th.
