Basketball Recap: Logan Wins High-Profile Game Against Texico

On Thursday, Logan faced Texico in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Logan Longhorns sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 75-72 victory over the Texico Wolverines. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Longhorns have posted since December 19, 2024.

Leading Logan to victory were Hayden Bruhn and Mason Wallin. Bruhn dropped a double-double with 25 points and 20 rebounds, while Wallin went 10-for-18 on his way to 24 points and six boards. Bruhn's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Rylan Montoya, who posted ten points.

Logan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Logan's victory bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Texico, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-2.

Logan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-51 win against Fort Sumner/House on the 15th. As for Texico, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-50 victory against Hagerman on the 14th.
