Softball Game Preview: Simon Gratz Bulldogs vs. Olney Trojans

The Simon Gratz Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the Olney Trojans at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

In Thursday's Canine Competition, Simon Gratz prevailed. They were the clear victors by a 20-5 margin over Penn Treaty on Thursday. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Olney had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech on Wednesday as they made off with a 15-2 win.

Olney's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Simon Gratz, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Simon Gratz came out on top in a nail-biter against Olney in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, sneaking past 14-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
