Baseball Game Preview: Warwick Raiders vs. Gloucester Dukes

For the second straight game, Warwick will face off against Gloucester. The Raiders will welcome the Dukes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Warwick 4, Gloucester 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Warwick is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Gloucester just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Dukes by a score of 5-4.

For Gloucester's part, Brayden Scott looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those hits were Scott's first of the season.

On the hitting side, Jesse Jackson was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Shield, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

The win was the fourth in a row for Gloucester, bringing their record up to 7-2. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.75 runs across that stretch. As for Warwick, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
