Basketball Recap: Avon Takes a Loss

Avon's last matchup with Le Roy could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Avon Braves had to suffer through a 59-27 loss at the hands of the Le Roy Oatkan Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Braves have suffered since December 20, 2024.

Maria Geary was Avon's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Angelie Salogar held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds. Tessa VanAllen took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Avon has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. Le Roy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8.

As of now, neither Avon nor Le Roy have any future games scheduled.
