Volleyball Recap: Canyon's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Canyon can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against the Coronado Thunderbirds by a score of 2-0.

While Canyon won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23.

Grace Skidmore was the offensive standout of the game as she had 12 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last 17 contests. Krissa Cato also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

When it comes to explaining why Coronado lost, don't look at Hazelle Arias. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs and four aces. Another player making a difference was Julieta Fuentes, who had eight assists and six digs.

Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 17-10. As for Coronado, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.

Canyon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Rouse on the 30th. As for Coronado, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Prestonwood Christian on the 29th.
