Basketball Recap: Burns Comes Up Short

Burns was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. The game between the Hilanders and the La Grande Tigers didn't end well, with the Hilanders falling 56-38. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hilanders of the 60-52 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2019.

Burns' defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for La Grande, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-4.

Coming up, Burns will finish 2025 at home by hosting Pleasant Hill at 1:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for La Grande, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Caldera at 1:30 p.m. on January 3, 2026.
