Baseball Game Preview: Eagle Point Eagles vs. Springfield Millers

The Eagle Point Eagles will head out to square off against the Springfield Millers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Eagle Point didn't have quite enough to beat Ashland and fell 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered against the Grizzlies since April 18, 2023.

Meanwhile, Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Cottage Grove.

Springfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Darius Bullock, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Eagle Point, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-6.

Eagle Point skirted past Springfield 2-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
