Recap: Bonneville Bees vs. Blackfoot Broncos

The Bonneville Bees managed to keep up with the Blackfoot Broncos until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Bonneville's rough 69-48 defeat to Blackfoot might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bonneville in their matchups with Blackfoot: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the loss, Bonneville still got an impressive performance from Alyssa Harris, who scored 28 points along with five steals. That was a full 58.3% of Bonneville's points, marking the 11th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Diana Peterson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.

Blackfoot's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kendylan Anderson led the charge by scoring 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addison Tanner, who scored 17 points.

Bonneville has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Blackfoot, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.

Bonneville will head out on the road to challenge Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Idaho (Hillcrest is ranked 58th, while Bonneville is ranked 70th). As for Blackfoot, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Idaho Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Blackfoot focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday.
