While Plainfield East's victory against Benet Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bengals had just enough and edged out the Redwings 4-2. Winning may never get old, but the Bengals sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

The team relied heavily on Iliana Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Plainfield East's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-11. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Benet Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-16.

Plainfield East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Benet Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Neuqua Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Redwings surely won't give up without a fight.
