Basketball Game Preview: Johnson Atomsmashers vs. Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes

The Johnson Atomsmashers will head out to challenge the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Johnson saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They lost 73-48 to Darlington. While losing is never fun, the Atomsmashers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Tigers are ranked 91st).

Meanwhile, Monroe Area came up short against Cherokee Bluff on Friday and fell 65-53. The Purple Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Johnson has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Monroe Area, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
