Baseball Game Preview: North White Vikings vs. North Newton Spartans

North White is 1-9 against North Newton since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Vikings will square off against the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. North White has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

North White is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Friday. They came up short against North Judson-San Pierre, falling 17-5. Surprisingly, this marked the Vikings' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, North Newton was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They fell just short of Washington Township by a score of 2-1. The Spartans' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Nick Bartrom was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

North White's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for North Newton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

North White might still be hurting after the 14-4 loss they got from North Newton in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
