Football Game Preview: McDowell Titans vs. North Buncombe Black Hawks

The McDowell Titans are taking a road trip to face off against the North Buncombe Black Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Buncombe took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on McDowell, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, McDowell got the win against Enka by a conclusive 33-7. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Jets recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

It was another big night for Hunter Pittman, who rushed for 47 yards and three scores. Jayden Whitesides also helped out with an impressive 84 receiving yards.

McDowell didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Enka to a completion percentage of just 47.1%. That's the best completion percentage they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, North Buncombe played a tough matchup two weeks ago in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 41-14 loss at the hands of Brevard. The Black Hawks have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

North Buncombe's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for McDowell, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

McDowell skirted past North Buncombe 38-36 when the teams last played back in September of 2023. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Black Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
