Baseball Recap: West Johnston Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

West Johnston not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th (when they won 9-2). They blew past the Smithfield-Selma Spartans 8-1. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

West Johnston pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Smithfield-Selma, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-20.

Looking ahead, West Johnston will host Fike at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Smithfield-Selma, they are taking a road trip to challenge Knightdale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
