Basketball Recap: Pine River-Backus Takes a Loss

Pine River-Backus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a hard 83-69 fall against the Kelliher/Northome Mustangs. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 90-78.

Pine River-Backus' loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Kelliher/Northome, the win also got them back to even at 10-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Tigers challenge the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kelliher/Northome, they will face off against Red Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Kelliher/Northome knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Red Lake likes a good challenge.
