Basketball Game Preview: Caliche Buffaloes vs. Hi-Plains Patriots

The Caliche Buffaloes will take on the Hi-Plains Patriots in a tournament on Monday. Caliche will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Caliche will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Akron, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Caliche snuck past Akron with a 55-51 win on Friday.

Meanwhile, Hi-Plains won against Miami-Yoder last Saturday with 47 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Hi-Plains really took it to Rocky Mountain Lutheran for the full four quarters, racking up a 47-11 victory. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Caliche's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points over those games. As for Hi-Plains, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.
