Baseball Recap: Humboldt Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Humboldt proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Algona Bulldogs a 2-0 shutout. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in June of 2024.

Humboldt's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Algona, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bulldogs beat Humboldt by a score of 11-0 later that day.
