Football Recap: Lafayette Christian Academy Skates Past Notre Dame with Ease

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lafayette Christian Academy and Notre Dame meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Knights breezed past the Pioneers to the tune of 41-7. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Knights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Pioneers are ranked 40th).

Lafayette Christian Academy was led to victory by Caiden Bellard and Braylon Walker. Bellard rushed for 109 yards and three scores, while Walker threw for 183 yards and three TDs on only 17 passes. That's the most passing yards Walker has posted since back in November of 2024. Lafayette Christian Academy's leading receiver Brayden Allen was Walker's top target yet again, picking up 45 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Lafayette Christian Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Jaimason Marzell was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 17 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Lafayette Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Notre Dame, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Lafayette Christian Academy will head out to take on Welsh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will be up against the Greyhounds' rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.86 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Notre Dame, they are taking a road trip to face off against Jennings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pioneers will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
