Basketball Recap: Springer Takes a Loss

Springer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Elmore City-Pernell Badgers and fell 86-24. The Cardinals lost against the Badgers in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 60-29 score last time.

Springer's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lexie Harrell, who posted ten points. That was a full 41.7% of Springer's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Springer's loss dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Elmore City-Pernell, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.

Springer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elmore City-Pernell, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-38 defeat against Empire on the 7th.
