Baseball Recap: Eastlake Comes Up Short

Eastlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 8-4 to the Pebble Hills Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 on Friday.

Eastlake's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Pebble Hills, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-11.

Looking ahead, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Eastlake Falcons face off against Coronado Thunderbirds at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastlake's pitchers better be ready for this one: Coronado has averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Pebble Hills, they will face off against Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.14 runs per game on average), something Pebble Hills will no doubt try to take advantage of.
