Basketball Recap: Summerfield Comes Up Short

Summerfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 46-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Doyline Panthers. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-55 back in November.

Summerfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Doyline, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Summerfield and Plain Dealing will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Doyline, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North DeSoto at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
