Volleyball Recap: Pioneer Comes Up Short

Pioneer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Oxford Academy Patriots, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-11.

Pioneer's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Oxford Academy, their win bumped their record up to 16-6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pioneer will challenge rival Cerritos at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Oxford Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Glenn at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
