Volleyball Recap: Guilford Park Takes a Loss

Guilford Park lost against Centennial back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panther took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Guilford Park was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Centennial work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 29-27, 15-25, 25-23, 25-18.

Chikanele Onukwugha paced Guilford Park's offense, picking up 19 kills. Onukwugha got some help from Sofia Servedio and her 20 assists. Servedio also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Yoonah Cho, racking up four apiece.

Guilford Park's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Centennial, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Guilford Park will be playing in front of their home fans against Glenelg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Centennial, they are taking a road trip to face off against Hammond at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
