After SFC Whittington handed each member of the football team a commemorative Tour of Champions shirt, the coaches and Hurricanes made their way to mid-court to a rousing ovation from the audience.

To kick it off, MaxPreps Representative Dean Craig shared the process involved in the MaxPreps computer rankings and the eligibility requirements for being named to the Tour of Champions. He then reminded the audience of the Cartersville football team’s tremendous accomplishments and announced their high national ranking.

Next, Craig introduced SFC William Whittington, PFC Andrews and PFC Hurt who presented the Army National Guard Minuteman national ranking trophy along with the Tour of Champions banner to Coach King and the team. The crowd cheered wildly as the boys hoisted the trophy high into the air and posed for pictures in front of media, parents, teachers and fellow students.

Coach King, the players and Athletic Director Darrell Demastus were extremely appreciative of MaxPreps and the Georgia Army National Guard for bringing national recognition to their team and their city. Congratulations Cartersville Hurricanes on a great season and high national ranking!
