Mountain Pointe extends road losing streak to seven

Recap: Mountain Pointe Pride vs. Casteel Colts

The Mountain Pointe Pride's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. Their rough 63-39 loss to Casteel might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Mountain Pointe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Casteel is ranked 85th).

Leading Casteel to victory were Ava Lewis and Jackie Rosado. Lewis dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds, while Rosado scored 30 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Rosado is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kate Anderson, who scored eight points along with five assists.

Mountain Pointe's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-16. As for Casteel, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Mountain Pointe will head out on the road to square off against Casa Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Casa Grande has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 14. As for Casteel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Higley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
