Baseball Recap: Holy Ghost Prep Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Holy Ghost Prep's offense. They lost 8-0 to the Pennsbury Falcons on Tuesday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Firebirds were not able to get on the board.

Holy Ghost Prep got a good showing from Matt Riendeau, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Riendeau has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Holy Ghost Prep now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Pennsbury, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Ghost Prep will square off against Haverford School at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Pennsbury, they will take on Harry S. Truman at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
