The Lincoln Lions will head out to square off against the Cupertino Pioneers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Lincoln's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 27-0 margin over Hill. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won five in a row.
Kaela Fear made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Fear was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
In other pitching news, Eva Vasquez looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Lincoln let Olivia Diaz and Serenity Hernandez run wild. Diaz got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and four RBI, while Hernandez went 4-for-5 with four runs, two triples, and three RBI. The dominant performance gave Diaz a new career-high in runs. Jocelynn Perez was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Cupertino made easy work of Evergreen Valley on Tuesday and carried off a 20-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pioneers.
Shelby Apostolo and Makayla Perez did most of the damage at the plate: Apostolo scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4, while Perez went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Talitha Vaughn, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.
Cupertino always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .541 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Lincoln's record now sits at 2-0. As for Cupertino, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Lincoln came up short against Cupertino in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, falling 8-5. Can Lincoln avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
