3A Narrows recap Oct. 16, 2012
Shelton suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after falling to North Thurston. The High Climbers had been ranked 20th, but fell to 30.
Timberline extended the longest winning streak in 3A Narrows this week by beating Mt. Tahoma, 46-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Blazers.
Lincoln's J'Maka Love and Joshua Eckwood have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Love has thrown for 1058 yards this season, while Eckwood, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 35 catches for 573 yards. Ralph Kinne from Shelton leads the league in rushing with 1894 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Rams take on Timberline. North Thurston is currently in third, while Nick Mullen's team is in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Rocky Patchin's team takes on the Blazers. The Rams have allowed 90 points this season, while Timberline has given up 107. North Thurston allowed 20 points last week as it beat Matt Hinkle's team.
The Blazers were the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in 3A Narrows. Timberline beat the T-Birds 46-6 earlier in the week.
