Andrew Nice was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Drew Whatcott was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jack Munson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Bingham entered their tilt with Copper Hills on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Grizzlies.
Brandon Lowe looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kam Beck, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Dylan Frank was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Bingham's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.75 runs across that stretch. As for Corner Canyon, their record now sits at 11-5.
Corner Canyon came up short against Bingham in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 6-2. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
