Football Recap: Little Axe Gets the Win

If Elmore City-Pernell wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Little Axe, they should've done a better job of containing Rebel Doiron. The Indians strolled past the Badgers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 32-13 with plenty of help from Doiron, who rushed for 153 yards on only 13 carries, and also picked up 69 receiving yards. His longest reception was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.

Another player making a difference was Esteban Calderon, who gained 115 total yards and a touchdown. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making three total tackles and defending two passes.

The win got Little Axe back to even at 1-1. As for Elmore City-Pernell, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Little Axe will head out to face off against Dibble at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elmore City-Pernell, they will face off against Southwest Covenant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
