Basketball Recap: Carbon Takes a Loss

Carbon suffered their closest loss since February 6, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Juab Wasps by a score of 50-47. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dinos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-31 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Carbon still got an impressive performance from Sage Vea, who posted 11 points. The dominant performance gave Vea a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Harley Hopes, who scored seven points.

Even though they lost, Carbon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

It was another big night for Hailee Hall, who went 6 for 9 on her way to 18 points for Juab. Ellisa Stoneman was another key player, putting up four points and six rebounds.

Carbon's record is now 4-13. As for Juab, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Carbon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-47 win against Delta on the 21st. As for Juab, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-26 victory against North Sanpete on the 21st.
