Waynesboro had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They never let the Fort Defiance Indians get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Given Waynesboro's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 51st, while Fort Defiance are ranked 230th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Waynesboro pushed their record up to 12-3-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matchups. As for Fort Defiance, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10-2 record this season.

Waynesboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fort Defiance, they will venture away from home to square off against Wilson Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
