Softball Recap: Beachwood Takes a Loss

Beachwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 23-13 to the Laurel Gators. The Bison were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gators apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Lily Grover was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alison Stephens, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Beachwood's loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Beachwood will face off against Orange at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Bison will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Laurel, they will square off against Brush at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
