Baseball Recap: Bassick Lions vs. Wolcott RVT Wildcats
Bassick had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-11 to make it ten. They lost 24-0 to the Wolcott RVT Wildcats. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 19-0 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Wolcott RVT, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Wolcott RVT's part, Daniel Mazzetti was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mazzetti has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with four runs and one RBI.
