Soccer Game Preview: Silsbee vs. Vidor

The Silsbee Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Vidor Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Silsbee fell victim to Lumberton and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Raiders, falling 5-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Vidor's game on Monday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They never let Jasper onto the board and left with a 1-0 win. The Pirates' winning goal came courtesy of Braiden Ramos.

Silsbee's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Vidor, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-14.

Silsbee beat Vidor 3-1 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Silsbee since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
