Softball Recap: Schurr Snags 12th Win in Last 14 Games

Schurr never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Mark Keppel Aztecs with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Spartans have won 14 matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Sophia De Santiago made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. De Santiago was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Kayla Rodriguez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Samantha Maldonado, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Schurr was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mark Keppel only posted a batting average of .167.

Schurr is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Mark Keppel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.
