Basketball Game Preview: Arlington Tigers vs. Collierville Dragons

The Arlington Tigers will head out to challenge the Collierville Dragons at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Tuesday, Arlington was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 39-33 to Houston. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, Collierville entered their tilt with Southwind on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Jaguars 61-20. The Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 games by 22 points or more this season.

Collierville's win came from a few key players Arlington will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bailey Thornton, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Jekhyra Rodgers was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven assists and five boards.

Collierville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matchups.

Arlington's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Collierville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

Arlington was dealt a bruising 51-21 defeat at the hands of Collierville in their previous meeting last Wednesday.
