Football Recap: Indian Hills Falls to Xavier in First Game of Season

Indian Hills had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 27-0 loss at the hands of the Xavier Knights. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 303rd in New Jersey, while the Knights are ranked 104th in New York).

Leading Xavier to victory were Peter Heaney and Riley McLaughlin. Heaney rushed for 74 yards on only ten carries, while McLaughlin rushed for 47 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Heaney a new career-high in passer rating (143.8).

Indian Hills has already played their next game, a 27-0 win against Tenafly on the 5th. As for Xavier, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-7 victory against Kellenberg Memorial on the 6th.
