Soccer Recap: Cathedral Plays to a Tie

For the first time this season, Cathedral was forced to settle for a draw. They and the Servite Friars finished up their game with a 2-2 draw on Friday. The Phantoms had to tread lightly for part of the contest as Jayden Rios and Diego Torres were both handed yellow cards, which could explain the final result.

Victor Aguiniga and Christopher Guzman scored both of Cathedral's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

With that draw, Cathedral's record moves to 3-2-1. Meanwhile, Servite's record is now 6-0-2.

Cathedral and Brophy College Prep will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cathedral is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season. As for Servite, they will challenge De La Salle at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. De La Salle will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Servite surely won't give up without a fight.
