Baseball Game Preview: Perkins Pirates vs. Galion Tigers

The Perkins Pirates will square off against the Galion Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Perkins is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Perkins is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Bellevue just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 9-5 to the Redmen.

Perkins saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxden Martin, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Galion had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. They skirted past the Spartans 7-5.

Perkins' loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Galion, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Perkins took their win against Galion in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
