Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for South View

South View had won two straight games and Danauje Brooks did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The South View Tigers really took it to the Gray's Creek Bears for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-40 victory thanks in part to Brooks, who went 19 of 40 en route to 51 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jordynn Parnell, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 13 times she's played.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Layla Fox, who posted eight points and 14 rebounds. Tatyana Smith was another key player, putting up four points along with eight boards and five assists.

South View has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Gray's Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

South View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 79-68 win against Cape Fear on the 17th. Gray's Creek has also already played their next game, a 58-53 victory against Jack Britt on the 17th.
