Basketball Game Preview: Hawkinsville Red Devils vs. Bleckley County Royals

Hawkinsville hasn't had much luck against Bleckley County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hawkinsville Red Devils will host the Bleckley County Royals at 6:00 p.m.

Hawkinsville is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Telfair County on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Hawkinsville was dealt a 63-31 defeat at the hands of Telfair County. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-13.

Meanwhile, Bleckley County didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Northeast on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 56-50 win. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Raiders are ranked 307th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Bleckley County and bumps their season record up to 11-6. As for Hawkinsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-15.

Hawkinsville was taken down by Bleckley County 62-26 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hawkinsville was down 33-12.
