Basketball Recap: John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers vs. Wenonah Dragons
The John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 64-36 loss at the hands of Wenonah. John Carroll Catholic was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-17.
It was another big night for Samarian Franklin, who scored 23 points along with six steals and five assists for Wenonah. Franklin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Jakerria Ringstaff was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
John Carroll Catholic has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season. As for Wenonah, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 24-7.
John Carroll Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wenonah will head out on the road to take on the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Pleasant Grove will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
