Baseball Game Preview: Community School of Naples Seahawks vs. Berkeley Prep Buccaneers

For the second straight game, Community School of Naples will face off against Berkeley Prep. The Seahawks will host the Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Community School of Naples 4, Berkeley Prep 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Community School of Naples heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Monday. They lost 10-0 to Berkeley Prep. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Seahawks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Berkeley Prep's part, they got a great performance from Rivers Kurland as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Kurland has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on JD Haughey, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Lucas Farrar, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Berkeley Prep has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Community School of Naples, their loss dropped their record down to 16-11.
